What is merchant analytics?
Merchant analytics is the practice of bringing together everything a merchant knows about its business — sales, orders, inventory, customers, margin, advertising and spend — and analyzing it as one picture rather than tool by tool. For most wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers and B2B merchants, that data is spread across an ERP, a CRM, an accounting package, one or more marketplaces, ad platforms and a long tail of spreadsheets.
Each of those systems has its own reports, and they rarely agree. Totals differ, definitions differ, and someone on the team spends hours every week exporting, pasting and reconciling before anyone can make a decision. Merchant analytics done properly removes that step: the data is collected and reconciled automatically, so the numbers are consistent before they reach a report.
